Our last club meeting

 Wednesday 6th July

Lady Olivia Hall, Central Drive, Brampton PE28 4QL

Our first time in the new Lady Olivia Hall and a super demonstration by Alison Suffolk who had travelled down from Nuneaton to do her presentation for us.

To be fair there were a few teething problems with the new hall over the sound quality, access to the stage and a few other things which will be mentioned to the council in a snagging report!!

However Alison did some beautiful arrangements, giving us plenty of helpful tips along the way and definitely entertaining us with her hilarious account of Peter the Peacock and his adventures!

After the demonstration teas and coffees were served along with fruit cake and cherry cake kindly made by Francis Knight.

Jubilee Social Celebration

Our Summer Social Evening

Celebrating the Queens Platinum Jubilee

Wow what a super evening!

The hall looked wonderful, decorated with bunting and the tables laid with their red cloths and Union Jack napkins and each with a floral tribute for the Jubilee.

Our speaker was Brenda Eyers talking about the history of hats.

This was illustrated with her beautiful collection of period hats and greatly enjoyed by all those present.

The talk was followed by a strawberry cream tea.

Members had been asked to create a floral centrepiece in red white and blue for our competition and there were many beautiful entries received. Brenda was kind enough to judge these for us.

Pam Pritchard was declared the winner, closely followed by Jan Dobie and Sheena Teeling.

We must say a big thank you though to everybody that entered.
